Training Programme

Learn to Swim: Ages 3yrs to 5yrs

Duration : 60 minutes

A program designed to give non-swimmers an opportunity to acquire basic water skills. . Students will work towards overcoming any fear of the water while becoming safety conscious. Building water confidence and eventually achieve total independence in the pool. Building water confidence by introducing different types of water activities,songs and games. Children learn how to do front and back float in a relaxed position, kicking and breathing control when their faces are submerged in the water,blowing bubbles and water safety skills.

Beginner Level: Ages 5 yrs to 12 yrs

Duration: 60 minutes

Formal teaching of strokes begins at this stage. A variety of strokes and water skills are introduced with development in the most successful stroke. Students are also introduced to rhythmic breathing techniques, gliding in a streamlined position; develop sculling skills used in treading water and co-ordination. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of breastroke arm movements, kicking and breathing. Students will work towards to the NASSA bronze award.

Intermediate Level

Duration:60 minutes

A program designed to prepare students for the NASSA Silver award. Students will learn the fundamentals of elementary backstroke, sidestroke and developing competency in front crawl (freestyle). Student will work towards the correct stroke and breathing techniques in freestyle, sidestroke and backstroke.

Advance Level

Duration: 60 minutes

A program designed to prepare students for the NASSA Gold & Gold Star awards. Students will continue to develop their freestyle,backstroke and breastroke as well as begin to learn butterfly. Students will work to improve their stamina in freestyle and backstroke. Increase swimming skill proficiency and endurance.

Competitive Swimming

Duration: 60 minutes

A program designed for those swimmers who wanted to achieve their goal to be the fastest to swim in a given distance. Progress skill developments in all four strokes with increasing emphasis on correct technique. Improving technique, diving and developing endurance and speed in all four strokes.
